Professor Dr. Said Elshahat Abdallah is working as Professor of Agricultural Process Engineering, Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, Kafrelsheikh University, Egypt. He was born on January 6, 1972. He obtained his Ph. D. degree in Technical Sciences in November 2005 from the Faculty of Design, Don State Technical University, Russia. Dr.Al-Janabi is an assistant professor at the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department, College of Engineering, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. Samira Lotfi is a chemical engineer with 10 years of experience studying chemical process design, process simulation and kinetic parameter estimation for various applications such as catalysis. Prior to joining the NRC, she collaborated in several projects on conversion of biomass to energy and chemicals during her PhD at Ecole Polytechnique de Montréal. She joined NRC EME in August 2016 as a research associate in the water treatment group and more recently joined the lowcarbon fuels and clean combustion team. As a researcher, she has contributed and/or managed various projects in such areas as syngas clean-up, gasification modeling and bioreactor analysis and process design.

Abdeen Mustafa Omer (BSc, MSc, PhD) is an Associate Researcher at Energy Research Institute (ERI). He obtained both his PhD degree in the Built Environment and Master of Philosophy degree in Renewable Energy Technologies from the University of Nottingham. He is a qualified Mechanical Engineer with a proven track record within the water industry and renewable energy technologies. He has been graduated from the University of El Menoufia, Egypt, BSc in Mechanical Engineering. His previous experience involved being a member of the research team at the National Council for Research/Energy Research Institute in Sudan and working director of research and development for National Water Equipment Manufacturing Co. Ltd., Sudan. He has been listed in the book WHO’S WHO in the World 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010. He has published over 300 papers in peer-reviewed journals, 200 review articles, 7 books and 150 chapters in books.

Ilaria Cacciotti is an Associate Professor of Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering, and Material Science and Technology. She is the Coordinator for Engineering Area, member of the Research Committee and of the Board of PhD Course in Industrial and Civil Engineering at the Engineering Department of University of Rome Niccolò Cusano. She has graduated in Medical Engineering (Master of Science Award ‘Fondazione Raeli’), completed her PhD in Materials Engineering, and has obtained II Level Master’s degrees in Forensic Genetics and in Protection against CBRNe events. She has spent research periods at Kyoto Institute of Technology-Piezotech (Japan) and ITRI-Deakin University (Australia). Her research activity is mainly focused on the synthesis and characterisation of nanoceramic, polymeric and composite materials, in forms of particles, spheres, films, fibres, for biomedical and food packaging application. She was awarded with 8th CCT Award “Best Oral Presentation for Young Researchers”, 10th International Award "Giuseppe Sciacca"-Young Students, European Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Doctoral Award, "Young Researcher Award Elsevier-Materials Science and Engineering: C", "Top Cited Author 2011-2012 ChemEngJ", "Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing" (MaterChem and Phys 2013).

Professor Aighewi is a natural scientist with formal educational background that includes: Bachelors and Master of Science degrees (B.Sc. and M.Sc.) in Plant and Soil Sciences from Tuskegee University in Alabama (USA) in 1982 and 1985 respectively, a PhD degree in Soil Science from University of Minnesota (USA), in 1988, a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in Environmental Health Sciences from Columbia University in New York City, NY (USA) in 1992, and a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Sciences (GC-GIS) from Indiana-Purdue University in Indianapolis Indiana (USA), in 2003. He also attended and received numerous certificates from Harvard University, University of Edmonton Alberta, Canada etc.His professional career as a Scientist and educator spanning 34 years in 2017 started as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Tuskegee University, USA in January 1983, and have included several other positions that includes Doctoral Graduate Research Assistant in the USDA-ARS Laboratory of the University of Minnesota; Research Associate in Columbia University, New York; Visiting Lecturer and Lecturer in University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Maryland USA; Associate Professor and Professor of Environmental Science/Health at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina. Professor Aighewi also worked as a Faculty Fellow/Expert for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US-EPA) Zone 5 in Chicago in 2010; Lecturer I in the Faculty of Agriculture in University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria; Visiting Professor (Assoc) and currently Professor of Environmental Management and Toxicology (Environmental Chemistry and GIS Applications) in the Faculty of Life Sciences in University of Benin, Benin City.
